Romantic and pretty, soft florals in chalky pastels, pink, dusky lavender creams, old gold and soft dove greys….It looks wonderful all over the home - a clean, crisp and informal way of decorating.

Delicate sprigs of feminine floral patterns take on many guises, from a 1950’s feel, to a more hand-painted or embroidered appearance. Everything from bed linen to lampshades is adorned.

A colour-washed paint finish creates a wonderful backdrop to this story, as it appears almost transparent. It is most elegant and delicate, creates an almost ethereal effect. Soft, simple motifs are stencilled or stamped on to the walls, alternatively try a light dusting of stencil or stamp pattern sprinkled over a corner of a room.

A few decorative pieces found in auctions or junk shops are added to minimalist, uncluttered rooms. Fabrics are light and wafty, with much shine and shimmer, furniture is painted in a solid colour, or colour washed in pastels - but made to look worn and loved.
